The beautiful city of Mysore in Karnataka, South India is planning to host first event as the part of celebration series on 2nd October 2011. As the event coincides with the Dussera Festival, it will surely be an exclusive attraction for the travelers as well participants. The Dussera festival will be celebrated from 20th September to 2nd of October 2011 and after the celebrations, the event of Celebration Run Mysore will add more excitement. The 10 day long Dussera festival entices 5, 00,000 visitors every year. It is estimated that the people equally of above mentioned figures are going to Participate in Celebration Run Mysore. Participants can register themselves through the official website which is http://www.celebrationrun.com. The Marathon run will commence from 6:30 AM onwards. The Marathon will have three categories. The first category is made for the adults who will cover 21kms of run. The 5 kms and 10 kms run are accommodated for children and senior citizens. The entry fee for 21 kms half Marathon run is Rs 600, for 10 kms run is Rs 400 and celebration run of 5 kms is Rs 300. 5km run is not included in the competitive category, so all the participants who want to just run for fun can opt for 5 km category. The running route will siphon through the most prominent landmarks of Mysore which will also provide a chance to feast eyes on the rich heritage of the city. The winners in the competitive category of 21 kms of half Marathon and 10 kms will be awarded cash prizes. Keeping the safety parameters in close consideration, the medical facilities will also be provided by the medical partners of the event. Doctors/ Nursing staff along with ambulances will be positioned at the start and finish line. Proper refreshments and water while en route to finish line will be offered to the participants.
To boost the sporting spirits of participants, special music and dance groups will take the complete onus of entertainment. The whole ambiance will be so vibrant and electrifying, that even the non-participants will relish the whole mood of celebration run series. The race will be conducted by the professionals having vast experience in organizing marathon in the international ambit. It is expected that good numbers of eminent personalities will also participate in this ‘ Celebration Run Mysore-2011’.
